The 'BrewKegTap Club Challenger Cup' is a brand new BJCP sanctioned competition, open to all amateur homebrewers based in the United Kingdom, with a focus on, but not exclusive to, the UK's many great homebrewing clubs. Each year the Club Challenger Cup, will be sponsored by a different homebrewing business and this year we are proud to partner with BrewKegTap, one of the UK's leading online retailers of homebrewing and dispense equipment. Check out their full range here - BrewKegTap

All entries will be assessed by qualified judges and members of the brewing community against current style guidelines.

Entries are currently capped at 200 during the initial BJCP Judge sign up phase. Once we have the required judges we will raise the limit to 250, then 300.

All Club Challenger Cup entries must be mailed to the drop off location by the shipping deadline (please allow for shipping time). There will be no drop-off available for the Club Challenger Cup, repeat there will be no drop-off for entries. This decision has been made by both the organising club and the organisers of BrewCon 2023 to ensure a well run competition with minimum interference to our host venues (both of which are operational breweries).

The Shipping deadline for all entries to arrive is Friday 29th September. Any beers that arrive after this date may be judged where possible but will not be able to be brought to the Club Challenger Cup to compete.

All entries remaining after the event will be made available to drink at the end of BrewCon 2023, during the after event at Hackney Brewery, where the results of the Club Challenger Cup will be announced. We will endeavour to make each entry labelled and easily recognisable.

The main prizes will be awarded to:

- Highest Scoring Homebrew Club across all entries Prize - £250 cash fund to be solely used by the club to organise a homebrew event in their town / region. Ts&Cs apply.

- Club Challenger Cup Best Of Show Prize - A BrewKegTap sponsored Kegerator system

- Club Challenger Cup Champion Brewer Prize - TBA

All brewers positioning first, second and third in category will receive a rosette and various prizes.

All scores & feedback sheets will be posted to the competition website promptly after judging has concluded.

Judging - Judge & Steward sign up is open. As a BJCP sanctioned event all judges and stewards will receive BJCP points for participating. All judges will receive a free pass to the 'Day Session' of BrewCon 2023. Food will also be provided at each judging session.

Competition Rules:

All entries must be made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations).

Beers will be assessed against BJCP Style Guidelines 2021.

The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.

Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.

The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on number of entries. All possible efforts will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.

The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners.
